Mega-Project will remain imprinted on our minds since we have not just learned by our mistakes and through teamwork but have made friends and memories which will remain long lasting just like the sustainability of this project. Taps maintenance idea proved to be a really fantastic idea because of its sustainability and the influence it had on people’s life.
Before starting the project we had made a time scheme and followed it till end, No doubt we improvised it a number of times according to the availability of the team members (Because some of us are continuing a job and some have their final year project or research due). On-field experience was amazing because people were treating us as Government employees and asking for changing the filters and fixing other stuff but when we told them that we are doing it on voluntarily basis they ended up giving prayers to us.
Fund raising was tried by everyone but mainly Muneeb and Haris succeeded in this task as they were able to collect 500/- and 1000/- respectively and remaining members contributed up to 1200/- from their side collectively.
Purchasing of taps was done by Kashif and Faizan and they also surveyed the filtration plants prior to going there for actual task. Then Amir, Haris, Kashif and Faizan went to filtration plants earlier individually and later on in a group according to the time availability and covered 15 filtration plants at different locations( mostly located near to their residence) like WASA filtration plant located at Muslim Park, Rizwan Garden, Islampura and Shahdrah.
Everyone tried his/her best to make public aware of how more can be saved by little efforts and realized natives that how water is precious for our living and at which rate water is depleting with increasing population.
We have learned teamwork, leadership and humility throughout this Mega-Project, we had heated arguments with each other but solved at our own by understanding each other needs and preferences and by compromising at some places. Now, when our session is going to end we have affirm goal to carry on social welfare works and support each other at any level even if its only motivation.
